October 2026 : Asahi India Glass Limited (AIS) has recently appointed Dr. Chander Shekhar Devra as Chief Information Officer (CIO). In his new role, Dr. Devra will steer the IT vision and enterprise AI strategy across AIS, AIS Consumer Glass Solutions Limited, and all strategic business units (SBUs).

AIS operates 12 manufacturing plants along with 10 advanced sub-assembly units and warehouses across 8 key geographical locations in India. Delivering end-to-end capabilities spanning Automotive Glass, Architectural Glass, and specialized consumer retail brands - such as AIS Glasxperts, AIS Windshield Experts, and AIS Windows - the conglomerate aims to leverage Dr. Devra’s expertise to accelerate its digital evolution across B2B, B2C, and D2C channels.

Dr. Devra brings over 23 years of rich cross-industry experience spanning specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, banking, insurance, R&D, and core IT. He spent over 12 years at SRF Limited, holding several key leadership roles including CIO & Vice President for the Specialty Chemicals Business & Chemicals Technology Group. His extensive professional journey also includes technology leadership positions at Rajasthan Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (a Govt. of India Enterprise), Allahabad Bank, National Insurance Co. Ltd., and Pinnacle Financial Engineers.

A practitioner of agile methodologies, Dr. Devra holds certifications in Scrum Master, ITIL, and PRINCE2 Agile. His academic credentials include a PhD, an Executive Program in Artificial Intelligence from IIM Bangalore, Business & IT Alignment training from IIM Ahmedabad, a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) from Mohanlal Sukhadia University, a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, and a Diploma in Management from VMOU, Kota.
