August 2025 : Barry Callebaut, the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality chocolate and cocoa products, recently announced the inauguration of its third chocolate manufacturing facility in India. The new plant is strategically located in the Ghiloth industrial area of Neemrana, approximately 120 kilometers from Delhi.

The 20,000-square-meter greenfield factory is a major milestone in Barry Callebaut's long-term growth strategy for the country. With an investment of over INR 500 Crores (CHF 50 million) in India over the past five years, the company is reinforcing its commitment to local manufacturing and customer proximity. The opening of this facility makes India Barry Callebaut's largest chocolate-producing market in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) region.

Vamsi Mohan Thati, President of AMEA, Barry Callebaut, highlighted the significance of the expansion. "India is the fastest-growing major economy in the world. With our newest facility, we are reinforcing our leadership position and deepening our commitment to being the trusted partner to India's food industry," he said.

Dhruva Jyoti Sanyal, Managing Director, India & Southwest Asia, Barry Callebaut noted that the location is key to serving the rapidly evolving market. "This new factory enables us to meet that demand locally, foster innovation, and deepen our partnerships with local food manufacturers and artisans," Sanyal said. "Its location in Neemrana allows us to get significantly closer to our customers, particularly those in the north-central part of this vast country."

Barry Callebaut has had a presence in India for over 18 years, with two existing factories in Baramati and a CHOCOLATE ACADEMY™ Center in Mumbai. The new Neemrana facility will serve as a northern hub, complementing existing operations and enhancing the company's ability to serve its markets more efficiently.
