June 2026 : BMW TechWorks India has recently announced the appointment of Karthika Jayaprakasham as the new Unit Head-Integration Platforms. Based out of Chennai, Jayaprakasham will steer the company’s integration strategies, driving seamless digital ecosystems for the global automotive giant.

Taking on a leadership role in a fast-evolving tech hub is no small feat, but Jayaprakasham brings exactly the kind of deep-rooted expertise required for the challenge. Stepping into her new role this June, she is tasked with leading high-performing teams to build agile, scalable integration architectures. Her appointment comes at a crucial time as automotive companies globally accelerate their reliance on cloud connectivity, smart manufacturing, and software-defined vehicles.

Before making the leap to BMW TechWorks, Jayaprakasham spent a remarkable 17-and-a-half years at the Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India. Her journey there is a masterclass in professional growth and consistency. She originally walked through their doors as a Graduate Engineering Trainee and steadily climbed the ranks through sheer technical prowess and leadership. Over nearly two decades, she progressed from Software Engineer to Senior Software Engineer, eventually anchoring major delivery tracks as Assistant Manager and Deputy Manager. This extensive tenure gave her a front-row seat to the massive digital shift within the automotive industry.

Jayaprakasham’s foundation in engineering was built at the Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Technology, where she earned her Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, graduating with Distinction.
