"With the largest acquisition in our company history, we are accelerating our growth, expanding our global footprint, and balancing our business by strengthening our energy and building technology.” - Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Bosch Board of Management

August 2025 : The Bosch Group has successfully completed the largest acquisition in its history, purchasing the residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) business from Johnson Controls. The landmark deal, valued at $8 billion (approximately €7.4 billion), also includes the acquisition of the Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning joint venture

The transaction, which was finalized on July 31, is a key component of the company's "Corporate Strategy 2030." With this move, Bosch aims to grow significantly faster than the market, solidifying its position as a global leader in the HVAC sector.

The acquisition will nearly double the size of the Bosch Home Comfort division, increasing its sales to over €8 billion and its workforce to more than 25,000 associates. This expansion will significantly strengthen Bosch's market presence, particularly in the critical Americas and Asia-Pacific regions.

Stefan Hartung, chairman of the Bosch board of management, commented on the strategic importance of the deal: "With the largest acquisition in our company history, we are accelerating our growth, expanding our global footprint, and balancing our business by strengthening our energy and building technology. This makes Bosch more powerful and robust, in line with our corporate strategy 2030."

Hartung added that the HVAC industry is in a state of upheaval, with the market and technologies undergoing rapid change. "Bosch is systematically taking advantage of its opportunities and is now moving up to the Champions League in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions business," he stated.

The expanded portfolio will include strong brands such as York in the U.S. and Hitachi in Asia, for which Bosch has secured long-term licensing. The company's global production network will grow from 17 to 33 plants, with the number of development sites increasing from 14 to 26, creating a comprehensive global footprint.
