July 2026 : Dalmia Bharat Cement Limited has recently appointed Nigam Kumar as its new Group Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Maintenance & Reliability. Based at the company’s Delhi headquarters, Kumar will report directly to the National Manufacturing Head - Operations, overseeing reliability frameworks across the group's extensive lineup of manufacturing plants.

Kumar’s core mission is to standardize maintenance operations, strengthen equipment uptime, and drive asset life-cycle cost optimization. Moving beyond traditional reactive repairs, his focus centers on deploying advanced predictive maintenance systems like Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Kumar’s professional foundation is backed by a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Al-Kabir Polytechnic, an MBA in Operations Management from ICFAI Sikkim, and a diploma in environment and pollution control from the NILEM Institute. His impressive 22-year career in the cement industry spans major domestic and international players. He started at ACC Limited (Holcim India), dedicating a decade to the company, before moving to UltraTech Cement. His expertise then went global for Dangote Cement in Nigeria and most recently for Heidelberg Materials (Twiga Cement) in Tanzania, before bringing his wealth of cross-border experience to Dalmia Bharat Cement.
