January 2026 : Forvia Hella, a global leader in automotive electronics and lighting, has recently announced the promotion of Mahavir Patil to the position of Managing Director for its India operations. This strategic appointment comes as the automotive sector undergoes a massive shift toward e-mobility and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), areas where Patil holds deep technical and strategic expertise.

Having previously served as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Patil’s elevation to Managing Director marks a new chapter for Forvia Hella Electronics in India. His primary mandate is to drive and scale the business, leveraging his decades of experience in navigating multicultural setups across BRIC, European, and US markets.

Patil is recognized in the industry for his ability to bridge complex technical domains- such as automotive embedded systems and powertrain electronics - with high-level organizational development. His leadership style is defined by a commitment to change management and a strong focus on mentoring the next generation of engineering talent.

Mahavir Patil’s career is a masterclass in automotive evolution. Before his seven-year tenure at Forvia Hella, where he progressed from Vice President to COO and now MD, he served as the Managing Director for the India Region at ETAS. His background also includes a stint as General Manager of R&D at Bajaj Auto and a formidable nine-year journey at Robert Bosch Engineering.

Patil holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from the Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur. To complement his technical acumen with executive leadership skills, he completed a PGCM in Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode.
