March 2026 : Prasant Kumar, a seasoned leader in digital transformation and Industry 4.0, has officially joined MSD Pharmaceuticals as Director of Product Management. Based in Pune, Kumar will be a cornerstone of the Digital MMD (Merck Manufacturing Division), specifically heading the Product Line, Solutions & Strategy for the Digital Shopfloor-Manufacturing Value Team.

With over 19 years of global experience, Kumar’s career reads like a manual on industrial evolution. He moves to MSD from Suzlon Group, where he served as Senior General Manager, overseeing the remote monitoring of 15GW of renewable energy assets. His deep technical roots include tenures at Honeywell Automation India Ltd, Baker Hughes (a GE company), and GE, where he specialized in control system design. He also brings foundational experience from Reliance Industries Limited and ENERCON.

His academic credentials are equally heavyweight. Kumar holds an MBA in Strategy & Leadership from the Indian School of Business and a Bachelor of Engineering from Biju Patnaik University of Technology. His continuous pursuit of excellence is further highlighted by certifications from INSEAD, Texas McCombs, and the Great Lakes Institute of Management.
