September 2026 : ONGC Petro additions Limited (OPaL) has recently appointed B. H. Vasudev Prasad as its new Managing Director. Steering one of South Asia's largest petrochemical complexes, Shri Prasad assumes leadership at a pivotal time as OPaL continues to scale its operational footprint and advance its strategic growth trajectory across the hydrocarbon value chain.

Bringing over 36 years of rich domain experience, Prasad possesses a strong track record of institutional leadership, corporate governance, and complex asset delivery. His technical and managerial acumen spans greenfield and brownfield project execution, process units, offsites, tankages, cross-country pipelines, and marine terminals.

Prasad has served in key executive leadership positions. He spent a major portion of his leadership tenure at Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) - a subsidiary of ONGC. His governance experience extends to senior board-level roles, having served on the Boards of Directors for Shell MRPL Aviation Fuels and Services Limited as well as Mangalore SEZ Limited.

An alumnus of Mangalore University / Manipal Institute of Technology, Prasad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Tech in Engineering Management, alongside a Level D Project Management Certification from PMA.
