January 2026 : In a strategic move to solidify its leadership in the rapidly growing Indian automotive market, OPmobility has recently announced the promotion of Gyanendra Sharma to Vice President and Chairperson, India Group.

In this elevated mandate, Sharma will also serve as the Managing Director and Country Director for the company’s Exterior and Lighting business units. The appointment follows a successful five-year tenure where Sharma served as Country Director, successfully navigating the complex turnaround and scaling of the company’s India business and technology centers in Pune and Bengaluru.

Widely recognized as a turnaround specialist, Sharma brings over 28 years of rigorous experience across automotive manufacturing and automation. His leadership philosophy, often summarized as "one team, one goal," focuses on the 80-20 principle - prioritizing high-impact actions to drive operational excellence.

Sharma’s professional journey is a testament to his versatility across the industrial spectrum. Before joining OPmobility in 2019, he spent over 11 years at Regal Beloit Corporation. His foundational years were spent at GE Aerospace and at Friedrich Boysen GmbH.

Sharma holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. He has further sharpened his leadership vision through executive programs at INSEAD and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
