February 2026 : In a strategic move to bolster its sustainable energy transition, Reliance Industries Limited has recently appointed Jitendra Singh as Senior Vice President & Division Head - Special Projects. Singh, an industry veteran with over three decades of experience, joins the energy giant to spearhead transformative initiatives in the green energy landscape.
Singh’s arrival at Reliance follows a distinguished career dedicated to the engineering and implementation of multi-billion-dollar sustainable technologies. His expertise spans the entire green value chain, including Green Hydrogen, Green Ammonia, Green Steel, and Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC). As the world shifts toward carbon neutrality, Singh is expected to be a pivotal figure in Reliance’s pursuit of operational excellence and energy optimization.
The appointment comes at a crucial time as India aims for self-reliance in energy. Singh has been a vocal advocate for the commercialization of alternative energy, food, and fertilizer technologies. His leadership style is characterized by a "result-oriented" approach, fostering culturally diverse teams to exceed corporate benchmarks.
Beyond his corporate roles, Singh is a recognized thought leader. He has served as a speaker for the MNRE on green hydrogen standards and was recently nominated to the Advisory Board of the Goa Government Ayushaca Project. His technical contributions include developing optimal solutions for hydrogen storage and pioneering the concept of "Balance of Plant" for variable-load green ammonia operations.
Jitendra Singh holds a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Harcourt Butler Technical University. His 30-year journey is a roadmap of global energy leaders: he began as a trainee at Sri Ram Fertilisers and Grasim Industries, moving into a long-term tenure at Chambal Fertilisers. His leadership expanded through roles at Engineers India Limited, Essar Oil, Petrofac, and Sasol Technology. He held senior leadership positions at Jindal Steel & Power, Saudi Aramco, Dangote Industries, and Aramco JV (PetroRabigh). Most recently, he served as Vice President at ACME Group and held a Distinguished Fellowship at the IIT Alumni Council, alongside a board role at Go Mobility Platform.
