May 2026 : Strategic growth is often about finding the right piece to complete a puzzle. For Riddhi Siddhi Gluco Biols Ltd. (RSGBL), that piece was found in the fertile heart of Karnataka. The BSE-listed starch giant has officially completed its acquisition of Cargill’s corn wet milling facility in Davangere, marking a transformative moment for the company’s southern India footprint.
The acquisition includes the entire integrated manufacturing infrastructure - comprising production units, massive corn silos, and specialized warehouses. Since its inception in 2016, the Davangere plant has been a benchmark for efficiency, boasting an impressive annual processing capacity of 300,000 MT. For RSGBL, this isn't just an expansion of assets; it is a significant leap in its ability to cater to the high-demand food, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.
At the core of this transition is a shared commitment to excellence and environmental responsibility. RSGBL plans to leverage the facility's advanced technology while doubling down on green initiatives, including an increased reliance on renewable energy.
Mr. Siddharth Chowdhary, Executive Director of RSGBL, expressed his optimism for the facility’s role in the company's future: "We are pleased to mark the successful completion of this acquisition. It reflects an important step in our long-term growth journey, strengthening our manufacturing capabilities and expanding our presence in food and pharmaceutical segments. The strategic location of the Davangere facility strengthens our ability to efficiently serve both domestic and export markets. We are firmly committed to sustainable operations at the facility, including increased use of renewable energy. The acquisition symbolizes a new chapter of innovation, efficiency, and strategic growth, positioning the company to create long-term value for stakeholders while setting new benchmarks in the industry."
While RSGBL enters this new chapter, Cargill continues to maintain its extensive 37-year presence in India across multiple business verticals. With three decades of expertise in starch derivatives, Riddhi Siddhi is now better positioned than ever to translate its strategic vision into tangible value for farmers and consumers alike.
