January 2026 : In a landmark move for India’s burgeoning semiconductor sector, Physical AI pioneer SiMa.ai and Kaynes Semicon have recently announced a strategic partnership to accelerate high-performance AI innovation. The collaboration is set to localize critical semiconductor packaging and system design, strengthening global supply-chain resilience while positioning India as a hub for next-generation electronics.
The partnership merges SiMa.ai’s purpose-built MLSoC (Machine Learning System-on-Chip) technology with Kaynes Semicon’s advanced OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) capabilities. Together, they aim to deliver "Make in India" electronic systems tailored for industrial automation, robotics, automotive, and aerospace sectors.
A cornerstone of this alliance is the co-development of defense-focused AI solutions. By utilizing Kaynes’ expertise in defense vision and reference design, the duo will create specialized hardware for smart surveillance, autonomous systems, and robotics. Kaynes Semicon will also manufacture production reference boards, allowing global customers to deploy SiMa.ai’s “push-button” AI inference technology with unprecedented speed.
"India’s engineering talent and manufacturing scale are fundamental to our mission of democratizing edge machine learning. This partnership with Kaynes Semicon aligns perfectly with SiMa.ai’s commitment to deliver effortless ML for every industry, from defense to industrial automation and beyond. Together, we are setting new benchmarks in making India a global force in physical AI," said Krishna Rangasayee, CEO and Founder of SiMa.ai.
Raghu Panicker, CEO of Kaynes Semicon, highlighted the broader impact: “Collaborating with SiMa.ai marks a significant leap forward for India’s semiconductor ecosystem. By fusing Kaynes’ advanced OSAT and manufacturing capabilities with SiMa.ai’s world-leading AI at the edge, we’re empowering critical industries to innovate at scale. This partnership is not just about technology - it’s about building a trusted supply chain, delivering value for our customers, and shaping the future of electronics manufacturing in India and worldwide.”
Aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, this partnership ensures that the "brains" of modern robotics and security systems are not only designed but also packaged and tested within India, securing the technology stack from end to end.
