“Anchored in TKM’s focus on localization and responsible growth, this initiative aligns with the company’s multipathway approach towards achieving carbon neutrality goals and meeting the national priorities such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.” - Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, MD & CEO - Toyota Kirloskar Motor

May 2026 : To reshape India’s automotive and technology landscape, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka. The automotive giant will anchor its next chapter of expansion around a “TKM Bizintel Hub” inside Bangalore’s upcoming KWIN City. The agreement was inked today in a high-profile gathering featuring Karnataka Chief Minister Shri. Siddaramaiah and Large and Medium Industries Minister Dr. M.B. Patil.

Spanning an impressive 300 acres along the Doddaballapur–Dabaspet Highway, this new mega-hub is designed to catapult India straight into the heart of Toyota’s global future. Rather than a standard assembly plant, the facility will serve as a high-tech nerve center for testing next-generation mobility solutions, driving digital transformation, and pioneering intelligent manufacturing across the firm's entire supply chain. It taps directly into Bangalore's legendary pool of tech talent and engineering brains.

Welcoming the partnership, state leaders highlighted how the project cements Bangalore's status as a premier global investment destination. Shri. Siddaramaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka, said, “Toyota Kirloskar Motor has been a trusted long-term partner in Karnataka’s growth journey. The MoU marks another important milestone as we work together to deepen technology-led investments, create quality employment and promote sustainable industrial development. This partnership further strengthens Karnataka’s leadership as a global investment destination and reinforces our commitment to innovation‑ driven growth.”

For Toyota, this commitment is deeply rooted in local self-reliance and the country's carbon-neutrality targets. Mr. Masakazu Yoshimura, Chairman, MD & CEO, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “We are grateful to the Government of Karnataka for its continued support and collaboration over the years which has played a key role in our journey. India has always been a strategically important market for Toyota to drive innovation and sustainable mobility initiatives. The TKM Bizintel Hub will support testing and evaluation activities, advancements in digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing across the entire supply chain business, leveraging India's robust information technology ecosystem with skilled talent. Anchored in TKM’s focus on localization and responsible growth, this initiative aligns with the company’s multipathway approach towards achieving carbon neutrality goals and meeting the national priorities such as Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

By bedding down in KWIN City - a smart city project focused on health, tech, and innovation - Toyota is ensuring its footprint remains highly future-proof. Building on its deep roots in Bidadi, where its twin plants push out up to 342,000 units annually, TKM is making a bold statement: the future of global mobility runs right through Karnataka.
