January 2026 : In a move set to redefine India’s digital and energy landscape, AM Group has recently announced a monumental $25 billion (approx. ₹2.1 lakh crore) investment to establish a 1-Gigawatt (GW) High-Performance Compute (HPC) Hub in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Invest UP at the World Economic Forum 2026, marking one of the largest single-sector investments in India to date. This ambitious project aims to democratize AI by creating an end-to-end value chain - turning "electron agents" into "intelligent tokens."
Unlike traditional data centers, this GW-scale hub will be powered entirely by 24/7 carbon-free energy, leveraging AM Group’s expertise in wind, solar, and pumped hydro storage. The facility will house over 500,000 of the latest high-performance chipsets, serving as a backbone for global hyperscalers, frontier research labs, and India’s sovereign AI initiatives.
The project will be executed in phases, with the first capacity expected to go online in 2028, reaching the full 1 GW milestone by 2030.
Anil Chalamalasetty, Group Chairman, AM Group, emphasized the transformative nature of the project: "Evolution of global AI ecosystem with intentionality, intelligence and adaptability will be a pivotal tool for current & future generations. AMG AI labs focus on valorising electron agents into intelligent tokens is a natural extension of our technology-first approach to our businesses as the global AI ecosystem races towards Physical AI Solutions."
