Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce Opens Two New International Offices

March 2024 : The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) has recently signed three MoUs leading to the opening of two new international offices and enhancing of commercial business links. Details of the three MoUs are given below:

1. BCIC Netherlands: A tripartite MoU was signed between BCIC, WTC Bengaluru and WTC Twente, Netherlands to enhance and strengthen economic and business relations between India and Netherlands. The signing was witnessed by His Excellency Ewout Jan De Wit, Consul General of Netherlands in Bengaluru who had graced the occasion. This relationship and arrangement of reciprocity will have our footprints in the Europe Region.

2. BCIC Saudi Arabia: To mark an entry in the Middle East and the African Region, and to strengthen trade and commerce, economic ties, a tripartite MoU was entered into with BCIC, WTC Bengaluru and WTC Riyadh. The Riyadh WTC manages two other WTCs properties in Jeddah and Al Khobar cities within Saudi Arabia. The WTC Saudi is owned and managed by World Trade Centres (Cyprus) Ltd which has got licenses in 16 locations in West Asian and African countries such as Algeria, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Yemen, Tunisia and Israel. Additionally, they own WTC properties in Australia and China. Gaining experience, an opportunity lies ahead to expand the reach beyond Saudi Arabia's Riyadh. Riyadh will be the third international office of BCIC again on the premise of reciprocity. This will act as referral offices for businesses in India and Saudi Arabia, to enhance trade and business relationships.

3. MoU Between WTC Mumbai and BCIC: Apart from the above two MoUs for setting up 2 new international offices of BCIC, a MoU is signed with WTC Mumbai, to enhance commercial and business links and networking between the cities of Mumbai and Bengaluru. This is a bilateral MoU.

The above three MoUs were signed at the 54th Global Business Forum of World Trade Centres Association held at Hotel Sheraton, Bengaluru recently. BCIC was a ‘Knowledge Partner’ for the event along with Deloitte. According to an official statement released by BCIC, “We expect the above three MoUs to support India Middle East Europe Corridor (IMEEC), an outcome of the recent India’s G20 Presidency and make Bengaluru city and India competitive in the emerging geopolitical and geoeconomic strategy with our theme ‘Namma Karnataka - The gateway to Future India’. You may also recall our opening of our first international office in Tokyo in 2022, and thereafter organising an international event with resounding success with the topic ‘Make in India with Japan, for the globe’.
