"Every product manufactured here will meet high-quality standards." - M.B. Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Karnataka

February 2026 : In a significant leap for India’s self-reliance in high-tech sectors, Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw officially inaugurated Zetwerk Electronics’ new world-class manufacturing facility in Bengaluru. The unit is set to be a cornerstone for production in defence, automotive, and IT hardware electronics, marking a pivotal moment in the nation’s industrial journey.

The facility, launched alongside Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, aims to meet the most stringent global benchmarks. During the ceremony, the Union Minister emphasized that quality would be the primary driver of this new venture. "Every product manufactured here will meet high-quality standards," the Minister stated. He noted that the manufacturing of electronic components is now growing rapidly, adding, "Already, 46 approvals have been granted, and Karnataka is set to receive investments exceeding ₹10,000 crore."

The inauguration comes at a time of massive federal support. Minister Vaishnaw highlighted that the budget for the electronic component manufacturing scheme was recently hiked from ₹22,000 crore to ₹40,000 crore. This surge in capital is designed to meet the Prime Minister’s ambitious production target of $500 billion by the 2030-2031 financial year.

India is no longer just assembling; it is designing. The Minister pointed out that "today, people are designing complete '2-nanometer' chips in India," and that major global players like Applied Materials and Lam Research are already on the ground.

With the implementation of 'Semicon 2.0', the government is focusing on the entire ecosystem - from gases and chemicals to yield improvement. The talent pipeline is also robust, with 67,000 silicon engineers already trained out of a 10-year goal of 85,000.

"We believe in a cooperative system and that the country grows only when all states grow," Vaishnaw remarked, urging a broad vision to make India a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. "Hon. Prime Minister has given us this vision, and we should all work unitedly and focus toward that single goal."
