February 2024 : Leading French contract logistics provider, FM Logistic India, inaugurated its 3rd state-of-the-art Multi Client Facility in India’s largest logistics hub of Bhiwandi on Thursday in the presence of its customers and partners. This new facility reinforces its commitment to delivering world-class sustainable omni-channel solutions to customers in the Retail, FMCG, Pharma and Precision Engineering industries. The momentous occasion was graced by Ajit Jangle, Managing Director of FM Logistic India and Loic Delaitre, FM Logistic’s Group Automation Director. Dignitaries from the French Consulate and the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in India were also in attendance. The inauguration ceremony was followed by an interactive session on ‘Warehouse Automation - Leveraging Technology to Future-Proof Your Supply Chain’. This session shed light on the pivotal role of automation in ensuring supply chain resilience and sustainability.

Spread across an impressive Seven lakh sq. ft., the new facility aligns with international standards and positions FM Logistic India as one of the top technology-driven contract logistics companies in the nation. The strategic location of the warehouse in close proximity to major consumption centres, in Mumbai and Thane, enhances efficiency and responsiveness.

One of the noteworthy features of the new facility is the availability of a multi-client customs-public bonded section within the warehouse premises to provide integrated solutions. Thanks to this feature, customers can have the bonded and non-bonded products stored at the same location without the need for additional handling or movement from a CFA to the warehouse.

Another salient feature of the new warehousing facility is an automated co-packing set-up for one of FM Logistic’s premium FMCG customers. This innovation enables the execution of promotional offers and successful campaign management with 24/7 readiness, catering to the dynamic nature of FMCG promotions.

Speaking at this milestone moment, Ajit Jangle expressed, “With the inauguration of our third Distribution Centre in Bhiwandi which also houses a multi-client bonded customs warehouse, we have reiterated our strong presence in India’s logistics domain. With this, we are offering integrated, innovative and sustainable value-added solutions. Additionally, the co-packing set-up deployed at this site will help cater to dynamic business requirements while ensuring quality and consistency. We strongly believe that this solution will go a long way in our goal to enhance customer intimacy.”

FM Logistic India’s new Distribution Center, with its strategic location, co-packing capabilities, and sustainability certification, is a comprehensive and efficient solution for diverse sectors, contributing significantly to the evolving logistics and supply chain needs of the customers. The new warehouse is equipped with a pantry, medical room for emergencies and creche. The warehouse is equipped with insulation panels on the roof and walls to ensure that the temperature within the warehouse is regulated for good working conditions. CO2 sensors have been installed to check the CO2 levels. It is to be noted that the new warehousing facility is Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) certified. The facility is equipped with top-of-the-class fire safety provisions. Clean energy generation through the use of solar panels, a water treatment plant, sensory LED lighting, etc. are some of the other sustainable features of the facility.
