															October 2025 : HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics, today announced a significant investment of ₹345 crores (USD 42 million) to expand its automotive electronics manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, accelerating India’s role in the future of connected and sustainable mobility. This fresh capital includes an immediate ₹45 crores expansion and an additional ₹300 crores over the next three years, primarily targeting advanced telematics and next-generation automotive connectivity programs. With this commitment, HARMAN’s cumulative investment in the Pune plant since 2014 now totals ₹554 crores (USD 67 million).
The expanded facility, inaugurated by CEO Christian Sobottka, increases production capacity by over 50%, enabling an annual output of four million car audio components, 1.4 million infotainment units, and 0.8 million Telematics Control Units (TCUs) by 2027. This growth also translates into the creation of 300 new jobs in Pune. The plant, which already serves major Indian OEMs like Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki, and exports to North America and Europe, is poised to manufacture the advanced HARMAN Ready Connect 5G and 4G telematics solutions, reinforcing the Government of India’s “Make in India, for the World” vision.

The expansion integrates green manufacturing principles, with the facility targeting 100% renewable electricity use by 2030.
