July 2026 : To boost vocational training and youth employability, TVS Motor Company has officially inaugurated the TVS Technology Centre of Excellence at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Dehradun. Developed in a partnership with the Government of Uttarakhand, this facility is designed to inject real-world industry expertise straight into the local education ecosystem.
The Centre of Excellence has been created to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice, giving students greater exposure to the technologies, tools and skills that define today's automotive industry. By matching standard academic theory with current workshop environments, the program ensures that local graduates enter the competitive job market completely prepared.
The curriculum at the facility provides deeply practical, job-ready instruction. Students will receive practical training in areas such as:
- • Hands-on Training in ICE & EV Technologies (covering traditional Internal Combustion Engines alongside cutting-edge Electric Vehicle engineering)
- • TVS Service & Maintenance Best Practices
- • Safety, Quality & Workshop Discipline
By integrating both traditional automotive engineering and the ongoing electric mobility revolution, the training center sets up young technicians to handle the immediate demands of automated service stations and complex assembly floors.
This Dehradun location is just the first step in a much larger regional blueprint. The new setup is part of a coordinated network aimed at scaling up technical education across the state's unique geography. The company also mentioned, "The Dehradun Centre along with Centres of Excellence in Srinagar and Almora will further strengthen our partnership with the Government of Uttarakhand."
Through this collaborative approach to upgrading public ITIs, TVS Motor Company and the state government are building a sustainable, highly-skilled talent pipeline capable of driving India's fast-evolving automotive sector forward.
