May 2026 : The road ahead for Hero MotoCorp just gained a seasoned navigator. The world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer has appointed Sachin Agrawal as its new Chief Technology Officer, effective May 21, 2026. Agrawal steps at a pivotal moment, as the industry pivots toward electrification and sustainable energy. He succeeds Vikram Kasbekar, who will continue to guide the company’s vision as an Executive Director on the board.

Transitioning into a new role is rarely just about a change in title; for Agrawal, it is about bringing a wealth of expertise to Hero’s global engineering footprint. From the Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology in India to the Hero Tech Centre in Germany, he will lead the charge in developing next-generation mobility and alternative fuel technologies.

His career began at Daewoo Motors India Limited as a Senior Engineer before his long-standing tenure at Eicher Trucks and Buses and VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. At VECV, he rose to become the Executive Vice President and Head of R&D and Technology, leading a team of 700 and overseeing everything from Euro VI engines to advanced electric buses.

His technical prowess is backed by stellar academic credentials: a Postgraduate degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from IIT Bombay, followed by a US Fulbright Scholarship and a leadership fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.
