“As we complete 25 years of Hettich’s operations in India, the inauguration of our new plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh marks another significant milestone in our growth journey.” - Andre Eckholt - Managing Director, Hettich India, SAARC, Middle East & Africa

March 2026 : Celebrating a quarter-century of engineering excellence in India, Hettich has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. This expansion marks a pivotal step in the German giant's "Made in India, Made for the World" strategy, reinforcing the nation’s position as a critical global manufacturing hub for premium furniture fittings.

The new 25,700 sq. metre plant is situated within Hettich’s massive 103,039 sq. metre Indore campus. It is specifically designed to produce technologically advanced undermount drawer runners - the concealed systems prized in modern modular kitchens for their seamless, "handle-free" aesthetic and silent soft-close performance. This facility, the first of its kind for Hettich in India, is part of a staggering ₹2,000 crore total investment in the country.

Efficiency meets sustainability at the new site. Equipped with German-engineered machinery and advanced roll-forming technology, the plant ensures every unit meets Hettich’s rigorous global quality standards. Furthermore, the facility champions green manufacturing through rainwater harvesting, solar energy, and a zero-liquid discharge system.

The expansion is also a win for the local economy. Adding to the 700-strong workforce at the existing hinge plant, the new facility is expected to create 300 additional jobs. Hettich is actively collaborating with Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) to upskill the local workforce in high-tech manufacturing.

Mr. Andre Eckholt, Managing Director, Hettich India, SAARC, Middle East & Africa, stated: “As we complete 25 years of Hettich’s operations in India, the inauguration of our new plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh marks another significant milestone in our growth journey. With an overall investment of over ₹2000 crore and a continued focus on BIS-certified manufacturing, we are reinforcing our Built to Lead commitment while steadily expanding our Made in India portfolio.”

With India now Hettich’s second-largest market globally, this facility will serve as a launchpad for exports to SAARC, the Middle East, Europe, and China.
