Dr. Rashi Gupta, Founder and Director, Vision Mechatronics who is fondly known as "Batterywali of India", is a Pioneer in Advanced Lithium Batteries bringing the "World's Smartest Lithium Battery" to India speaks to Pro MFG Media on her journey and the future of the energy storage segment.

Dr. Rashi, Founder & Director, Vision Mechatronics Pvt. Ltd. entered the industry in 2009 with specialization in Robotics and Automation, serving the defense and nuclear sector which she drove and overcame with the hurdles. In 2015, she ventured into energy storage and introduced the lithium batteries which are highly efficient and help with preventive and predictive monitoring. The batteries are enabled with AI and IoT which eventually benefits the consumer society and the whole sector is benefited overall. She described that 50% of the battery’s elements are Made in India and not just hardware but also the software. The current storage capacity of the battery is 9 megawatts which are also embedded with preventive fault analysis.

The fact that internet 4.0 is here and in this age, energy storage is enabled with IoT, Dr. Gupta signifies that it helps to assist the consumers placed even in the remotest locations. In the current scenario, India needs to have a sustainable and balanced energy mix. Renewable energy will play a vital role in sharing the energy mix but it is essential that we focus on Hybridization of Renewables and Hybridization of energy storage thus creating a balanced energy mix for the future.

Dr. Rashi emphasized on the need for electricity but it is also essential that we get it through a cleaner source of energy. Vision Mechatronics highly focuses on neutralizing carbon emission and have implemented various ways to combat carbon emission in their organization.
