September 2026 : Exide Industries has taken a major step toward clean mobility with the operational launch of its lithium-ion cell production hub. In September, 2026, its material subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions Ltd (EESL), completed the commissioning of Phase-I (6 GWh) of its facility in Devanahalli, Bengaluru.

The greenfield site is engineered to manufacture advanced lithium-ion cells across various chemistries and form factors. This versatility enables EESL to address diverse requirements across both the electric vehicle mobility sector and stationary energy storage applications.

Building on Exide’s longstanding market leadership in lead-acid technology, this operational milestone significantly deepens its capabilities in cutting-edge lithium-ion production. The new plant reinforces the company’s commitment to addressing India’s evolving energy storage needs while bolstering the nation's broader clean energy transition.
