May 2026 : Deepening a long-standing industrial partnership, John Cockerill India Limited has secured a major downstream manufacturing contract from JSW Steel Coated Products Ltd. (JSWSCPL). The landmark agreement outlines the engineering, design, manufacture, and supply of a high-capacity Cold Rolling Complex in Rajpura, India, boasting an impressive production capacity of approximately 600,000 TPA.\
Stepping into a sustainable future, the new industrial complex is targeted for completion in 2028. John Cockerill’s extensive project scope spans right from the initial engineering and manufacturing phases to the supervision of erection, commissioning, and comprehensive operator training on the ground. This mega-facility is designed to heavily anchor JSWSCPL’s position in premium coated steel products tailored for the automotive, construction, and appliance sectors.
The technological heartbeat of the Rajpura complex will feature three advanced facilities. A high-speed Semi-Continuous Pickling Line (PPL), running at 200 mpm, will integrate a cascading hydrochloric acid regeneration system to radically curb acid consumption and lower environmental impacts. Alongside it, a powerful 6-high Twin Stand Cold Rolling Mill (CRM) - marking the third such mill supplied by John Cockerill within the JSW Group - will roll steel at speeds up to 1,500 mpm with tight thickness tolerances. Finally, a Continuous Galvanizing Line (GI/GL) equipped with vertical furnace technology will offer robust coating ranges to deliver top-tier product yields.
