November 2025 : Lloyds Engineering Works Limited (LEWL) is celebrating a significant milestone, marking its 10th successful collaboration with the global engineering powerhouse, Primetals Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. and Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH. This enduring partnership has culminated in a massive strategic win, reaffirming their collective footprint in India’s vital steel sector.

The consortium, formed by Lloyds Engineering and Primetals Technologies, has been awarded a prestigious order worth nearly ₹800 crore by the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The contract is for the design and execution of a state-of-the-art 4.2 MTPA Pellet Plant Complex at SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur, West Bengal.

The Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from SAIL not only signifies a major business victory but also strengthens the firms' dedication to the nation's industrial self-reliance. Scheduled for completion within 39 months, this large-scale project directly contributes to the 'Make in India' initiative, showcasing the capabilities of local and global engineering synergy.

The project will see LEWL, a trusted engineering partner for industrial infrastructure, and Primetals Technologies, a recognized leader in plant building for iron, steel, and aluminum, delivering a critical asset that will boost SAIL’s production capacity and operational efficiency. This landmark collaboration is truly Engineering the Future of the Indian steel industry.
