Nov 2026 : OPmobility, alongside Maruti Suzuki India Limited and parent company Suzuki Motor Corporation, has officially inaugurated a new manufacturing plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana. Marking the Group’s sixth plant in the country and its second joint venture facility in northern India, the location places OPmobility squarely within one of the nation's fastest-growing automotive hubs.
The newly minted facility will focus on producing full energy storage systems, primarily dedicated to manufacturing fuel tanks to power Maruti Suzuki’s expansion in the region. Annual production at the site is projected to hit a massive one million fuel tanks by 2031.
This inauguration is a key milestone for OPmobility’s growing footprint in India, where it has operated since 2007. Today, more than one in three vehicles on Indian roads feature components made by the Group. Holding top market positions nationwide - ranking first in fuel tanks and third in bumpers - OPmobility supports its operations through six factories and four dedicated R&D centers.
The Kharkhoda launch plays a central role in OPmobility’s broader ambition to double its revenue in India by 2030.
Highlighting the significance of the expansion, Félicie Burelle, Chief Executive Officer of OPmobility, stated: “The opening of our new Kharkhoda plant is a major milestone in our long-standing partnership with Maruti Suzuki and a further step in OPmobility’s development in India. With strong economic growth, an expanding automotive market and significant potential for increased vehicle ownership, India offers considerable opportunities. Building on our partnerships with Indian and international automakers, we aim to double our revenue in the country by 2030.
