May 2025 : Schaeffler has announced the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility in Shoolagiri, India.

As part of the company's regional strategy to address growing market demands within the automotive industry in India, the 16,500 sqm manufacturing facility in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, India, will serve as a hub for production and expansion of conventional and electrified powertrain technologies, including planetary gear systems, hybrid transmission components, and new emerging innovations primarily catering to the Indian market.

With the new manufacturing facility, the company aims to increase its transmission component capacity in India significantly. The facility is also aligned with the Make in India vision, which underscores our commitment to localization and sustainability.
