June 2025 : Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited (SONA BLW), operating under the brand Sona Comstar, announced the successful completion of its acquisition of the ‘Railway Equipment Division’ of Escorts Kubota Limited (Escorts Kubota). The acquisition, effective June 1, 2025, positions Sona Comstar as one of the largest suppliers of engineered components and systems to Indian Railways.

The acquisition was finalized through an Amended and Restated Business Transfer Agreement dated February 10, 2025, under which Sona BLW acquired Escorts Kubota’s Railway Equipment Division, located at Plot No. 114 & 115, Sector 24, Faridabad 121005, on a going concern basis.

This strategic move is set to significantly enhance Sona Comstar’s footprint within the broader mobility ecosystem. It also strengthens the company’s clean mobility portfolio by integrating a well-established and leading business in railway components. The railway sector is a key area of focus for sustainable transportation, and this acquisition aligns perfectly with Sona Comstar's commitment to expanding its offerings in environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
