June 2025 : Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured two significant orders for supercritical thermal power plants, cumulatively valued at over ₹7,000 Crore. These crucial projects will bolster the nation's energy security and significantly contribute to its power generation capacity.

The first order pertains to the 2x800 MW Raipur supercritical thermal power plant, which is being established in the Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. This order has been awarded by Adani Power Limited.

The second order is for the 2x800 MW Mirzapur supercritical thermal power plant, located in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. This contract has been secured from MTEUPPL, a subsidiary of Adani Power Limited.

In both projects, BHEL's comprehensive scope of work includes the manufacture and supply of main plant equipment and associated auxiliaries, along with supervision of erection and commissioning. Key equipment, such as Steam Generators, Steam Turbines, and Generators, will be manufactured at BHEL's state-of-the-art facilities in Trichy and Haridwar.
