December 2025 : In a move to redefine the landscape of mobility engineering, the COEP Technological University’s Research & Innovation Park in Chikhali recently hosted a high-profile Industry Consultation Meet. Held on December 12, 2025, the gathering served as a strategic platform to shape the roadmap for the university’s proposed Automotive Centre of Excellence (CoE).

Departing from traditional academic presentations, the meet adopted a "listen-first" approach. This collaborative strategy ensures that the CoE remains industry-driven and capable of solving real-world challenges. The insights gathered from the dialogue, combined with an ongoing industry survey, will directly influence the planning of high-tech facilities and future investments, ensuring the CoE effectively complements Pune’s robust automotive ecosystem.

The event saw participation from a "who's who" of the Indian automotive sector. Valuable perspectives were shared by ecosystem partners including: Mr. Vijay Pankhawala - Sr. Deputy Director, ARAI, Mr. Kiran Vaidya - Managing Director, Auto Cluster Pune, Mr. Shrikrishna Gadgil - CEO, MECF Pune and Mr. Amit Kureel - CEO, MOTION - STPI. The dialogue was further enriched by technical talks and deep-dive discussions with leaders such as Mr. Sanjay Sangle (Mahindra Group), Dr. Naveen Gautam (Hella India), Ms. Prajakta Kotasthane (Shreeram Rubber Products), and Mr. Vilas Deshpande (Vayve Mobility).

The successful conclusion of the meet reaffirmed a shared vision for a collaborative hub that empowers Pune’s manufacturing sector. By fostering this spirit of co-creation, COEP Tech is set to bridge the gap between classroom theory and the fast-evolving needs of the global automotive industry.
