March 2026 : Daimler Truck Innovation Center India (DTICI) has recently announced a significant leadership transition with the appointment of Radhakrishnan Kodakkal as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. A veteran in digital transformation and global R&D strategy, Kodakkal takes the helm at a pivotal time as the automotive industry accelerates its shift toward software-defined vehicles and sustainable transport solutions.
Kodakkal joins DTICI following a distinguished tenure at Whirlpool Corporation, where he served as Vice President and Head of the Global Technology & Engineering Center, and most recently as Global Head of Integrated Technology. His career is highlighted by nearly 15 years at Philips, where he held several executive roles, including Global R&D Leader and CTO for Diagnostic X-Ray in Germany. His extensive professional journey also includes pivotal roles at ICT Embedded B.V., ABB, and the Electronic Research and Development Centre (ER&DC) in Trivandrum. Throughout his career, he has specialized in integrated digital twins, AI strategy, and managing large-scale post-merger integrations.
Kodakkal’s leadership is backed by a formidable educational background. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Senior Executive Leadership Program and holds a Master of Science in Business Information Systems from the Eindhoven University of Technology. He earned his B.Tech in Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Calicut.
