“With this store, we are setting the foundation for a faster, more accessible EV transition and plan to replicate this model across more cities soon. When drivers see how easily they can switch to EVs at lower running costs, the shift becomes inevitable.” - Ayush Bhargava - Head of Business, Exponent Energy

December 2025 : Exponent Energy, the Bengaluru-based energy-tech company, has taken a significant step into the electric three-wheeler retail space by launching its first Exponent Sales Point (ESP) Store in Laggere, Bengaluru. The outlet, located in Nandini Layout, is a one-stop-shop for customers looking to purchase new Exponent-enabled three-wheelers or retrofit their existing CNG/LPG autos.

The new ESP Store, which focuses on vehicles capable of Exponent's proprietary 0-100% 15-minute rapid charging, aims to simplify the EV transition for auto drivers. The store showcases five three-wheeler models developed in partnership with OEMs like Montra Electric and Kinetic Green. Crucially, it also functions as a retrofit touchpoint for the company's newly launched Exponent Oto technology, promising to convert existing autos to electric within a 24-hour turnaround time.

Ayush Bhargava, Head of Business, Exponent Energy, commented on the strategic retail move: “Our first ESP store gives drivers a firsthand experience of the full Exponent ecosystem, from exploring our range of Exponent-enabled vehicles to seeing how existing vehicles can be upgraded. This is a buying experience auto drivers have never had before, combining clarity, choice and convenience under one roof. With this store, we are setting the foundation for a faster, more accessible EV transition and plan to replicate this model across more cities soon. When drivers see how easily they can switch to EVs at lower running costs, the shift becomes inevitable.”

The retrofit solution, Exponent Oto, makes the shift economically attractive by allowing drivers to save up to ₹5,000 every month. All vehicles sold come with easy financing, minimal documentation, and a five-year/3,000 charging cycle warranty, all supported by Exponent’s network of over 70 charging points across Bengaluru. The company plans to open 15+ exclusive retail touchpoints across Bengaluru by the end of FY’26.

Exponent Energy was co-founded in 2020 by former Ather executives Arun Vinayak and Sanjay Byalal. The company’s core innovation lies in its complete energy stack-the proprietary battery pack, charging station, and charging connector-that together unlock the 15-minute rapid charge.

This technological stack has enabled rapid growth, powering over 2,500 EVs on Indian roads, facilitating over 1 million rapid charging sessions, and raising a total of $44.6 Million from investors including Lightspeed and Eight Roads Ventures. The founders, who have deep experience in product development and strategic sourcing from their tenure at Ather Energy, have successfully scaled operations to four cities (Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Ahmedabad) within two years.
