December 2025 : The Government College of Engineering, Karad (GCEK) has recently announced a major strategic collaboration with industry leader SKY Industries, Ichalkaranji, marked by a productive engagement with Shri Director of SKY Industries and esteemed Board of Governance (BOG) Member of GCEK.

The partnership is focused on closing the gap between academic theory and the practical requirements of modern manufacturing. As a direct result of this strategic discussion, SKY Industries has formally offered four cutting-edge, real-world projects for immediate collaboration with the GCEK Centre of Excellence (CoE). These projects are specifically designed to immerse students in high-demand Industry 5.0 applications, providing unparalleled practical experience.

The key collaborative projects include:
Automatic Industrial Welding Robot: Focused on developing autonomous systems for enhanced precision and safety. Mobile-Based Industrial Audit Report: Creating a digital tool for streamlined, real-time auditing and compliance. Industrial Machine Utilization – Mobile-Based Application: Designing a platform for instantaneous monitoring and analysis of machine efficiency. Air Line Leakage Detection: Implementing an intelligent system for proactive detection to improve energy efficiency.

This initiative is a critical step in preparing students for the future of manufacturing. The collaboration strongly reinforces GCEK’s commitment to producing graduates who are truly industry-ready, equipped with the skills necessary for the digital and automated landscape of Industry 5.0.
