September 2026 : Demonstrating the vital role of domestic industry in advancing India’s space exploration goals, Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG) has delivered critical propulsion and satellite systems for the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) successful EOS-05 mission.
Lifted into space aboard ISRO’s GSLV-F17 rocket, the EOS-05 Earth observation satellite is designed to strengthen capabilities in real-time weather forecasting, agricultural planning, natural resource management, and environmental monitoring. By delivering continuous, high-resolution data to help communities and government agencies make informed decisions, the mission marks a significant leap in India's operational space infrastructure.
The Aerospace business of Godrej Enterprises Group supplied key propulsion technology that powered the satellite’s journey from liftoff all the way into its designated orbit. The company’s specialized contributions included Vikas liquid engines, cryogenic engine nozzles, and high-precision satellite thruster components.
Highlighting the long-standing collaboration between the private manufacturing sector and national space research, Maneck Behramkamdin, Business Head of the Aerospace business at Godrej Enterprises Group, stated: “Every successful space mission is a moment of pride for the nation. For over four decades, we have contributed to India’s space programme through the manufacture of liquid propulsion engines and satellite thruster components. It is a legacy of engineering excellence that continues to fuel India’s ambitions in space.”
With a history spanning 129 years, Godrej Enterprises Group has repeatedly supported landmark ISRO missions, helping build deep technological capabilities in advanced manufacturing and heavy engineering. As India continues to expand its global footprint in space exploration, the success of EOS-05 highlights how self-reliance, indigenous talent, and strong public-private partnerships drive the country's technological progress.
