December 2025 : Granules India Ltd., a leading pharmaceutical company, has significantly bolstered its research and innovation capabilities by announcing the inauguration of two cutting-edge Centres of Excellence (CoEs) at the Technology Research Park, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH).
The inauguration ceremony was a high-profile event, graced by Dr. Krishna Prasad Chigurupati, Chairman and Managing Director, Mrs. Uma Chigurupati, Executive Director, and Ms. Priyanka Chigurupati, Executive Director of Granules India Ltd., alongside Prof. BS Murty, Director, IITH.
The first facility, the Ascelis Center of Excellence for Peptide Development and Characterization, marks Ascelis Peptides’ strategic entry into India. This CoE is set to work in close collaboration with Senn Chemicals, Switzerland, aiming to significantly strengthen the company's global peptide capabilities- a high-growth area in pharmaceutical science.
The second inaugurated facility is the Granules Center of Excellence for Particle Engineering. This dedicated research platform has been launched to aggressively advance studies in critical areas such as polymorphs, material science, and novel drug delivery systems. Particle engineering is key to optimizing drug performance and bioavailability.
These Centres are not just new facilities; they represent a significant step forward in Granules India's strategic vision. The partnership with IITH, a premier technology institution, will foster a robust ecosystem for scientific discovery, allowing Granules to leverage academic expertise to translate research breakthroughs into commercial pharmaceutical applications. The new CoEs are poised to become hubs for pioneering pharmaceutical research, contributing both to the company’s pipeline and the wider scientific community in India.
