November 2025 : Greaves Cotton Limited, a 165-year-old Indian engineering powerhouse, has solidified its position as a key global supplier by partnering with the European quadricycle giant, Ligier Group. This collaboration sees the "Made-in-India" Euro V+ certified, 499cc REVO D+ diesel engine powering Ligier’s latest microcars, the JS50 and Myli, across 16 European nations.
The advanced engines, meticulously developed and manufactured at Greaves' facility in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, meet the stringent Euro V+ compliance norms for the L6e light quadricycle category. Delivering 6.0 kW of power and 26 Nm of torque, the compact unit is engineered for superior fuel efficiency and exceptional NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) performance- crucial for discerning European customers ranging from younger drivers to older users.
The partnership underscores India's growing capability in supplying high-tech, regulatory-compliant automotive solutions to advanced global markets. Greaves is evolving from a powertrain supplier to an end-to-end mobility solutions provider.
