May 2024 : IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN) and Adani Defence and Aerospace signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 13, 2024. This collaboration aims to drive research, education, and innovation in defence applications, particularly focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Large Language Models (LLMs).

The partnership is set to foster mutual growth, with IITGN and Adani Defence committed to sharing knowledge and expertise through joint research initiatives, student projects, workshops, and prototype development. This collaborative effort is designed to address key challenges in the defence sector and support India's journey towards self-reliance in defence technology.

The MOU was signed by Amit Prashant, Dean of Research and Development, IITGN, and Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO, Adani Defence and Aerospace, during a formal ceremony at the IITGN campus. The event marked the beginning of a transformative collaboration, poised to address the key challenges in the defence sector, paving the way for India to achieve self-reliance in defence technology.
