Oct 2026 : Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has hit another significant milestone in supporting India’s civil nuclear energy goals. The company’s Heavy Engineering business vertical dispatched the 8th Steam Generator for the nation's 700 MWe Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) fleet - delivering the critical equipment three months ahead of the contractual deadline.

Crafted at L&T’s Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, the Steam Generator stands as one of the most vital components in a nuclear power plant. The early dispatch underscores L&T’s focus on safety, precision manufacturing, and execution excellence as India ramps up its clean energy infrastructure.

The achievement arrives at a crucial moment for India’s energy landscape. As the Government of India pushes to expand nuclear capacity - aiming to bolster national energy security, empower data and AI-driven technology, and reach long-term decarbonisation targets - on-time delivery of complex nuclear island equipment is essential. L&T's progress highlights the robustness of India's indigenous manufacturing capabilities on the global stage.
