November 2025 : Microchip Technology Inc., a global leader in smart, connected, and secure embedded control solutions, has significantly expanded its footprint in India with a new design and development facility in Bengaluru, solidifying its commitment to the nation’s growing semiconductor innovation journey.
The new facility, a strategic extension of Microchip’s existing Development Center, spans 1.72 lakh sq. ft. in Whitefield’s EPIP Zone. The site is designed for long-term growth, with plans to accommodate up to 3,000 employees over the next decade, establishing it as one of Microchip’s key global centers for advanced semiconductor research and product development.
The center will be instrumental in advancing cutting-edge IC design and embedded systems for global markets, supporting sectors including Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial, Communications, Consumer, and Data Infrastructure.
Steve Sanghi, President & CEO, Microchip Technology Inc., highlighted the company’s sustained belief in the region, noting, “We recently celebrated Microchip’s 25th anniversary in India, and this office acquisition is a testament to our commitment in India. The expansion recognizes India's vital role in the global talent pool. Srikanth Settikere, VP & MD, Microchip Technology Inc. As a long-standing member of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), Microchip's investment reinforces the industry body's vision for a globally competitive design ecosystem.
