Chhattisgarh-based two-wheeler manufacturer will launch three products –R1X, R3X and R5X

RedMoto XEV, an Indian manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, has announced the launch of three electric two-wheelers on May 21. While the scooters – R1X and R3X, will begin with a price tag of about Rs 65,000 the R5X motorcycle will cost between Rs 80,000 to Rs 85,000.

The XEVs will have a range of about 60kms with approximately four hours of charging. RedMoto claims that the running costs over 1000kms will be roughly about Rs 200, making it one of the most affordable electric mobility options available in India as of now. The models have been tested under ICAT for certification and homologation in the low-speed category with a 48V system and battery options of Lithium of VRLA.

While the company will begin operations in Chhattisgarh, they have plans to encompass Indian geography soon with their unique product proposition. With electrification of rural areas almost achieved, these EVs can offer local mobility options in remote areas away from fuel stations.

Apart from the three products to be launched next month, RedMoto XEV has a few more products in the pipeline with an eye on the larger pie of the mobility market in India which might include three-wheelers as well.
