May 2026 : Algo8 AI has recently announced the appointment of military leader Col Himanshu Chhaunker (Retd) as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Colonel Chhaunker steps into the corporate arena following a highly distinguished career spanning over two decades in the Indian Army. His military tenure was defined by leading large-scale manufacturing, operational readiness, and critical equipment sustenance programs across some of the world's most hostile environments.

In his new role as COO, Chhaunker will oversee the global expansion of Algo8's flagship ‘PlantBrain’ platform across the manufacturing, metals, energy, automotive, and defense sectors. His core mandate centers on building a rock-solid operational backbone designed to make industrial AI delivery repeatable, scalable, and commercially meaningful.

Before taking the operational helm at Algo8 AI, Chhaunker built a formidable career inside the Indian Army, serving as Head of Operations, Assistant Military Secretary for the Government of India, and Chief Operations Officer / Officer Commanding at a Defence Repair Establishment. He later rose to lead enterprise-scale units as Commanding Officer at a Defence Repair Establishment in Ladakh and General Manager Operations at an Army MRO Establishment.

His technical and strategic foundations are backed by a solid academic background, including a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), an MS in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University and an MBA in Business Analytics from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.
