August 2025 : BEML Limited has recently announced a significant milestone with its first-ever overseas contract in the Rail and Metro segment. The company has secured an order worth USD 1 million (approximately ₹8.758 crore) for the retrofit and reconditioning of a Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) system in Malaysia.
The contract, officially received on August 9, 2025, marks BEML’s entry into the international rail market. With decades of experience manufacturing metro cars, EMUs, and rolling stock components for major urban projects in India, BEML is now strategically expanding its global footprint.
This new venture is seen as a crucial stepping stone that positions BEML to secure more export orders and contribute to the modernization of global rail infrastructure.
