April 2026 : Achin Gupta has formally assumed the role of Managing Director & Global CEO, stepping into the position after serving as the company’s Global Chief Operating Officer. Gupta’s path to the top office is paved with diverse experiences across the global healthcare landscape. Before his nearly five-year tenure at Cipla, he spent over eight years at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, holding senior leadership roles in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. His professional foundation also includes strategic planning at Abbott Laboratories and a formative stint in management consulting at A.T. Kearney. This rich corporate history is backed by an elite academic pedigree; he is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and holds both a B.Tech and M.Tech in Biochemical Engineering & Biotechnology from IIT Delhi.
