July 2025 : Hitachi Energy India Limited ("Hitachi Energy India") has secured a significant order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited ("POWERGRID") to supply 30 units of 765 kV 500 MVA single-phase transformers. This crucial supply aims to bolster India's grid infrastructure amidst its ambitious energy transition goals

India is rapidly advancing its energy transition, driven by the increasing integration of renewable generation sources and the electrification of industries and transportation sectors. This shift has led to a substantial rise in demand for power transformers in India, which has grown at a rate of 15 percent per year over the last two years. To effectively meet this surge, utilities are strategically shifting their planning horizons from near-term project-based approaches to more flexible and secure longer-term program-based strategies.

This shift in planning benefits technology providers like Hitachi Energy by enabling better capacity investments, securing supply chains, and ensuring timely delivery of critical components. As a leading transformer manufacturer, Hitachi Energy brings its global technology prowess and local expertise across the energy value chain, positioning itself as a partner of choice for mission-critical, nation-building projects aimed at inspiring the next era of sustainable energy.
