“By ensuring an uninterrupted, high-purity gas supply for this landmark EAF facility, we aim to directly contribute to a model of steel manufacturing that is cleaner, smarter and more sustainable.” - Siddharth Jain, Managing Director - INOX Air Products

April 2026 : In the heart of Punjab’s industrial belt, a new heartbeat of manufacturing has begun to pulse. INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has officially commissioned a state-of-the-art, 280 tonnes per day (TPD) cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) at Tata Steel’s greenfield facility in Ludhiana. This isn't just about machinery and pipelines; it is about fueling a cleaner, more efficient future for Indian steel.

The new plant is a marvel of modern engineering - fully automated and designed to provide a steady, high-purity stream of Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Argon. These gases are the "hidden heroes" of the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) process, ensuring that the high-grade steel produced here meets the rigorous standards of global markets while keeping the operation running without a hitch.

But the impact of this commissioning stretches far beyond the walls of Tata Steel. By boosting its capacity in the north, INOXAP is essentially shortening the distance between its products and the local businesses that need them. From small workshops to massive factories across northern India, the liquid Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Argon produced here will now arrive faster via a streamlined tanker distribution network, reinforcing the region's entire manufacturing ecosystem.

Reflecting on the achievement, Siddharth Jain, Managing Director - INOX Air Products, shared his pride in the project’s dual purpose. “The commissioning of this 280 TPD cryogenic ASU is a proud milestone for INOXAP, both in terms of our engineering capabilities and our commitment to enabling some of India’s most ambitious industrial projects. By ensuring an uninterrupted, high-purity gas supply for this landmark EAF facility, we aim to directly contribute to a model of steel manufacturing that is cleaner, smarter and more sustainable. Simultaneously, this ASU intends to open up a strategic gateway for liquid gas distribution across northern India, enabling INOXAP to serve a wider industrial customer base across the region. We remain deeply committed to building the gas supply infrastructure that powers India’s manufacturing future.”

With this latest deployment, INOXAP continues to prove that it is more than just a gas supplier; it is a vital partner in India’s journey toward becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse.
