September 2026 : Jindal Power Limited has recently announced the appointment of Sudip Nag as its new Managing Director. Stepping into the role this month in Delhi, Nag brings nearly four decades of hands-on expertise in thermal power generation, renewable energy integration, regulatory affairs, and strategic policy formulation across India’s energy landscape.

With a distinguished career spanning 38 years, Nag has built a reputation for driving operational turnarounds, commissioning supercritical thermal infrastructure, and spearheading green energy transitions. His extensive background bridges public-sector governance and private-sector scale, making him exceptionally well-suited to guide Jindal Power’s next phase of growth and transition.

Nag spent over 35 years at state-owned NTPC Limited, at the Farakka Super Thermal Power Station. Over his storied tenure, he held key leadership roles, including Business Unit Head at the 3,010 MW Talcher Super Thermal Power Station, GM of Corporate Operation Services, and Founder Mission Director of SAMARTH under the Ministry of Power. He later served as NTPC’s Regional Executive Director for Eastern Region-1, alongside serving as Director at BRBCL (a JV of NTPC and Indian Railways). Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer - Thermal Generation at Adani Power.

Nag holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, and earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Operations & Finance) from Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon.
