“We have worked very closely with over 10 State Governments and across 715+ Government ITIs and Polytechnics to empower ITI students to be job-ready at the end of their training - and we are carrying over this expertise to the DREAM LABS project in Uttar Pradesh.” - Vineet Seth, Managing Director - Mastercam India

June 2026 : To redefine vocational training, the Uttar Pradesh Government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate cutting-edge CAD/CAM education across 600 government schools through the visionary DREAM Labs initiative.

The project is powered by a high-profile industrial consortium led by NELCO Ltd (A Tata Enterprise), alongside manufacturing pioneers including Mastercam India, Yaskawa, 3D Systems, and Ace Designers. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, this public-private alliance is set to empower students from Classes 9 to 12 across all 75 districts with hands-on training in Industry 4.0 pillars, including Robotics, AI, 3D Printing, and Advanced Manufacturing.

Reflecting on the program’s long-term human impact, Shri Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of Basic and Secondary Education, emphasized that the initiative focuses on Empowerment, Entrepreneurship, and Employment. Addressing the consortium, he noted: "This agreement is not just a project, but an investment in the future of Uttar Pradesh's youth. Considering the rapidly changing industrial requirements, it is the need of the hour to equip students with Industry 4.0-based skills. Dream Labs will become a strong medium in this direction, where students will gain practical and employment-oriented skills along with traditional education."

The infrastructure will thrive on a collaborative Hub-and-Spoke framework, ensuring that high-tech machinery and industrial digital software reach the most remote, aspirational pockets of the state. Ms. Monika Rani, Director General of School Education, highlighted the need for seamless structural execution, insisting that a strong launch must be paired with result-based monitoring and regular student attendance to truly transform lives.

By tailoring globally recognized, safety-first curricula to secondary learners, Mastercam India is bringing its deep expertise from 715+ Government ITIs directly into mainstream classrooms. Mr. Vineet Seth, Managing Director of Mastercam India, shed light on the vision to cultivate a nation of builders from a young age: "It is the need of the hour to enable vocational education at the secondary and higher secondary school levels, similar to how it is prevalent in mature manufacturing economies across the world. The vision of 2047 Vikasit Bharat can bear fruit only when we sow the seeds of manufacturing enablement today, across all levels of learner adaptability. We have worked very closely with over 10 State Governments and across 715+ Government ITIs and Polytechnics to empower ITI students to be job-ready at the end of their training - and we are carrying over this expertise to the DREAM LABS project in Uttar Pradesh. In the US, school students used Mastercam to machine a part for NASA - which went to space - thereby bringing a sense of pride and accomplishment to the students who were a part of this project in their school. Igniting the passion for 'making things' in young minds will help our nation reach manufacturing maturity across all levels over the next decade or so. I'm glad that we as Mastercam have the good fortune and opportunity to be part of this spectacular journey."
