January 2026 : Nidec Industrial Automation India has recently announced the appointment of Swapnil Dethe as its new Managing Director, effective December 2025. This leadership transition marks a significant milestone for the company as it strengthens its footprint in the motion and energy sectors across the Indian subcontinent.

Dethe, an industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, transitions into this top leadership role after a highly successful 13-year tenure as Director of Strategy, Business Development, and Corporate Branding at Nidec India. His appointment comes at a pivotal time as Nidec continues to expand its manufacturing capabilities in India, including the recent development of its massive 30-acre greenfield campus in Hubli-Dharwad.

Swapnil Dethe’s professional trajectory is a testament to his expertise in the electrical and automation industries. His journey began at Crompton Greaves. He later joined the Emerson Group (now part of Nidec) as a Divisional Program Manager for seven years, followed by a strategic stint as Business Head at the US-based distribution giant Grainger. Since 2012, he has been a cornerstone of Nidec India, playing a vital role in the company’s expansion and branding strategy.

Dethe holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from COEP Technological University and a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Government Polytechnic. He further specialized with an International MBA in Marketing from United Business Institutes and recently earned a Master of Religious Education from Cornerstone University (Asia Biblical Theological Seminary).
