February 2026 : Olectra Greentech Limited, a pioneer in India’s electric mobility revolution, has recently announced the appointment of Dr. Allabaksh Naikodi as its new Head - EV Systems. A titan in the electric vehicle industry with over 30 years of experience, Dr. Naikodi is set to spearhead the company’s technical advancements as it scales its sustainable public transportation solutions.
Dr. Naikodi is widely regarded as one of the leading EV experts in the country. His track record includes the end-to-end design and development of critical powertrain components - ranging from eDrives and chargers to advanced BMS and battery packs for 2W, 3W, cars, and buses. Notably, he received the highest award at Mahindra for designing an EV powertrain with best-in-class efficiency and holds 12 patents in EV technologies.
Beyond the lab, Dr. Naikodi plays a pivotal role in national policy, serving as a Member of the National EV Steering Committee and Chairman of the EV Project Review Committee for the Government of India.
Dr. Naikodi’s career is a roadmap of the evolution of power electronics in India. Most recently, he served as a freelance consultant providing powertrain solutions following a tenure as CTO at JLNPhenix Energy. His leadership spans several industry giants, including roles as Head of EV at Royal Enfield, Head of R&D (Electrical and Electronics) at Mahindra Electric Mobility, and Lead Architect at Schneider Electric.
His foundational expertise was built at Tech Mahindra, Satyam Computer Services, Honeywell Aerospace, Himson and HBL NIFE, and ABB Inc. Academically, he is a gold medalist from PDA College of Engineering and holds a Ph.D. from IIT Madras.
