May 2026 : Spray Engineering Devices Limited (SED) has recently announced a new partnership with water treatment giant VA Tech Wabag. The collaboration will see SED design and commission a 300 KLD Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system for RenewSys India’s solar PV facility in Hyderabad, marking a major win for sustainable industrial growth.
The heart of the project lies in a twin-stream (2 × 150 KLD) system designed to tackle the environmental challenges of solar cell and module production. RenewSys, a key player under the Enpee Group, is a major manufacturer of solar PV modules and components. By integrating SED’s specialized technology, the facility is set to drastically reduce its environmental footprint.
What makes this installation stand out is the use of SED’s proprietary MVR-based Low Temperature Evaporation (LTE®) technology. This advanced system is engineered to recover a staggering 90-94% of water from industrial effluent. The resulting condensate - with less than 300 ppm TDS - is pure enough to be cycled back into process and utility operations. Because it utilizes Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), the plant operates with negligible steam consumption, making it a win for both the planet and the company’s bottom line.
Reflecting on the impact of the project, Mr. Vimarsh Verma, Director of Spray Engineering Devices Limited, said: "This order validates our commitment to engineering solutions that go beyond compliance and deliver measurable sustainability outcomes. At SED, we are enabling industries to transition toward a circular water economy through efficient, reliable, and future-ready technologies. We remain focused on fast execution, operational excellence, and long-term value creation for our customers."
As India ramps up domestic solar manufacturing under the PLI scheme, the demand for high-efficiency water management is skyrocketing. This contract reinforces SED’s reputation as a leader in ZLD solutions, backed by a 30-year legacy and over 550 installations worldwide. For Hyderabad’s solar hub, this project isn't just about compliance - it’s about pioneering a future where clean energy is produced with clean water.
